In January 2017, Adam Kemp joined FSG’s Brisbane office as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. Adam is a chartered geotechnical engineer, post graduate qualified specialising in geotechnical engineering and design. He has over 15 years of industry experience and was previously an Associate at AURECON. Adam has specialist knowledge in soft ground engineering, slope stability, stabilisation, retention and ground improvement. Adam has considerable experience in leading the planning and execution of geotechnical investigations and design for large infrastructure projects.

FSG purchase Light Falling Weight Deflectometer (LFWD)

The Light Falling Weight Deflectometer (LFWD) is an fast and effective way to measure a composite in-situ modulus value of near-surface material. The modulus parameter returned by this quick field test is a function of the measured peak applied loads and associated peak deflection which are all recorded and analysed on site via wireless tablet. As the LFWD measures composite modulus it is able to assess the effects of geotextiles and the results are not adversely affected by larger sized particles in the matrix making the LFWD an idea way to assess engineered construction platforms on site.
